Quarry tile remains one of the most dependable floor tile choices available. With its low absorption (frost resistant quarry tile has an absorption rate of 3 percent maximum and qualifies as vitreous) and added thickness (usually 1/2 inch), unglazed quarry tile eases many concerns with installation failure associated with tiling outdoors. The thickness of the tiles and the through-the-body color reassures the installer that there won't be traffic wear issues and that the tile will well exceed breaking strength and compression strength requirements. Also, the color and range of reduction-fired quarry tile will not be affected by UV exposure and as a result will not experience fading or any shift in color. |
